Creative Direction & Design

Pulse Mag is a literary print magazine co-created with Eva Rizk, exploring current culture, the state of the internet, and the thoughts and feelings that arise from them.

It is composed of only Montreal-based writers & artists, printed locally.

The Pulse Mag universe draws from childhood references and a desire to create an editorial experience we felt was missing. The visual system evolves from these influences, with the spiral, introduced in the logo and repeated throughout the issue, acting as a recurring motif tied to ideas of spiralling, digging deeper, and following a train of thought.

The Secrets Issue
Volume 2

This issue unveils secrets of all shapes and sizes, from confessions, to underground spaces, to hidden lives.

The cover features local artist Biaggio & Co’s “Portes du paradis” belt.

Promotional materials for Issue 02 were designed to translate the editorial world into digital and physical formats, including social assets and posters that extend the magazine’s tone beyond the page.

On November 20th, we held our second launch party at Cardinal Tea room to celebrate the Secrets issue.

The First Issue
Volume 1

Promotional pieces created to support the creation and release of the first issue.

On April 17th 2025, we celebrated the release of the magazine at Système.
